The Asian Center serves ALL immigrants and refugees, and we have expanded our programs to support Ukrainian and Afghan refugees on top of serving over 1400 clients from 30 nationalities. We offer a broad range of services to immigrants and refugees in the community though our Family Resource Program, Women's Program, Youth Program, Health Education and Advocacy Program, Cultural Programs, and more!
In the past year, the world has seen several humanitarian crises that have caused trauma, destruction, and mass movement of people on a global scale. In Lincoln, we have felt the direct impact of two of these crises with the recent influx of hundreds of Afghan and Ukrainian refugees. We are eager to serve all of the communities in Lincoln in need, but we need additional support; we don't have the capacity to serve all of the 40-50 newly arrived Ukrainian families and the hundreds of Afghan refugees in Lincoln who struggle with challenges like language barrier challenges, health problems, transportation access, food access, and ongoing housing trouble.
